She watched him get up and walk towards the kitchen, shaking her head at his grin. He was going to keep her wondering. She merely allowed herself to fall upon the bed and curl up in the blankets, only allowing her head to show as she got comfortable again, though she did this to try to reassure herself in the still faint darkness. The light would be rising soon. “Yup!” She said happily, childishly, glad that no nightmares had shattered her rest. “What about you Shade? You were sleeping like a baby before I… uhmm…” she cleared her throat faintly, “woke you up.” A sheepish grin went upon Akasha’s lips as she thought about her reaction to his sleeping form beside her. She had to stop over reacting!

He laughed. "I haven't slept like a baby since I was one," he replied cheekily, ignoring her awkwardness. "Tea?" he asked. "Or coffee?"

Ooc: I managed to sprain one of my fingers playing basket ball... Hence the reason I wasn't online yesterday... not to mention I was lost in a book ^^' My apologies. I don't know if I'll be on today... I babysit directly after school till I dun know how late.
Akasha rose her shoulders in a shrug, though thanks to the large pile of blankets around her, that shrug didn’t show. She rolled her eyes faintly as she nestled deeper into the blanket, feeling as though she was losing herself in a sea of comfort. She thought about the tea or coffee question longer than she had any possible need to do so. She wasn’t exactly sure if she wanted something hot down her throat, but to humor him, since he had gone through the trouble of boiling the water, which might not sound like a lot. She decided to just stop being picky. “Tea, please.” She said softly preferring tea to coffee any day. Then it clicked into her mind, they were going on a ship today! Her eyes lit up with unexplainable excitement. Days on the water, only sunny sky, if it didn’t storm or get too cloudy, of course, and water all around her! Not to mention that she was going to be on a ship full of strangers and most likely sticking to Shade’s side like glue. Those details were irrelevant. They meant nothing, absolutely nothing. She hoped.

He poured the cups, coffee for him, tea for her, and settled back onto the bed, leaning his back against the headboard. He sipped his coffee a moment, staring at a painting across from the bed, and sighed lightly. "So, are you ready to go?" he asked, not looking at her, but addressing her as if he was.

Akasha took her cup in her hands as she raised herself just enough to be able to sit up, still half bundled up, clutching the cup into her slender fingers. She turned her gaze towards her cup and took a small sip. She wondered if she truly wanted to leave, and in truth, she wasn’t too sure if she would ever be ready to leave this place, for any amount of time. This was the place she was used to, this was her home. "Anytime you are, if you still want to accompany me." She replied calmly, feeling a faint feeling inside of her, hoping that he still wanted to come… Wait a minute… WHAT!? She thought to herself in shock, denying that she wanted him to join her. Why would she want that? He was a male… She was used to fending on her own… She didn’t need the company, or at least that was what she tried to convince herself.

Shade cast her a curious glance out of the corner of his eye. He shook his head slightly, and took another sip of his coffee. "I promised that I would protect you, right? How would I hold to that if I just left you?" He tilted his head to look at her.

The female looked at the ground and seemed to concentrate only on the tea within her cup for a moment as her eyes went in and out of focus. “I just don’t want to be too much trouble for you Shade. Maybe you could be sick of your job, and you could get told to leave at any time. Then I’ll be left on my own as I always was…” She paused faintly as her silver gaze rose and went towards him. “I guess I just don’t want to have to watch someone leave me again… I’m only a job, right?” Akasha inquired, a faint sorrow glimmering deep within her eyes. She was expecting him to just get up and leave, as everyone else had done. It would be nothing new… She would have to get used to it. No one staid by her side forever, and she wasn’t going to think that Shade was going to stay by her side. He had a living, he wouldn’t leave just to make a female happy. He didn’t seem like the type.

He watched her a moment, before setting his cup down and leaning over to her, bringing their faces close as he lifted her chin with cool fingers. His eyes met hers, and he smiled. "I promise you, I will never leave your side. You're not just a job any more, Akasha. You're so much more than a job now." His tone was soft, whispered, but he meant everything he said. Screw the council. He could find other work while he stayed with her, so it would be fine. He didn't know when he had come to this realization; probably sometime during the night, but she meant so much more to him now than a measly handful of coins. His hand moved from her chin to brush a lock of hair to the side of her face, tucking it behind her ear, and he smiled again, a look so soft and gentle on his face that it would have melted ice. It was then that a startling realization hit him like a ton of bricks.
He loved her.

Akasha felt his touch against her face and her eyes went up to meet his, it was then that she noticed him smile, and though she knew that she shouldn’t believe the words that he was saying, but she found herself wanting to believe them. She didn’t want to be alone much longer. She averted her eyes faintly, listening to his words, his voice, and the meaning behind them. The light demoness felt relief wash over her as she closed her eyes faintly before opening them again, and looked back at him as his hand pushed her hair behind her ear. The expression upon his face made her worries dissipate. She knew that he was speaking the truth, that he wasn’t going to leave her. That she, a mere girl, meant something to someone. She nodded softly, unable to bring a sound from her throat. She took a faint shaky breath, and a gentle, hesitant smile went upon her lips. “Thank you, Shade… I, I just don’t want to be a burden for you.” Akasha spoke softly. Her voice showed that she wasn’t used to speaking to people, or being shown kindness, for her voice seemed hesitant, as though the emotion was alien to her, but at least she would have him by her side.

((^^ Those are the best kind!))
He smiled and shook his head faintly. "You will never be a burden. Never ever." His mouth curled upwards into a smirk. "And if you ever do, which you won't, but just in the off chance that you do, I promise to tell you right away so that you can stop, okay?" An impish look passed on his face, before he rolled past her, off the bed, and stood, yawning loudly. He went over towards the couch where his things had been deposited, and started organizing himself.
"Go ahead and get ready. The boat will leave in an hour and a half, which leave us time to get breakfast before we go." He looked over his shoulder and grinned at her.

The light demoness only nodded once more, though her smile was faint, she was happy of the words she was hearing. “Alright, Shade, alright.” She smirked faintly as she watched him get off the bed and go towards his things. “But never ever seems to be unenviable when I’m around.” She stated with a wink. When she heard him tell her to get ready, she merely gulped down her tea, ignoring the burning sensation in her throat, and jumped to her feet as she pulled her bag upwards with her. “But what if I need three hours to get ready?!” She asked jokingly as she headed towards the bathroom just the same, mentally searching through her bag to think of how she would place her weapons in a way that she didn’t seem threatening.
She didn’t even wait for his answer before she had closed the door behind her and the sound of running water could be heard. In a matter of fifteen minutes, the sound of water had stopped. In the minutes to follow, Akasha strolled out of the bathroom, her hair wrapped up in a towel and her bag upon her shoulder. “How long are we going to be on ship?” She inquired curiously as she sat at the edge of the bed and started toweling her hair, her silver eyes never leaving him.

While she was in the shower, Shade had transfigured his hair shorter, though it was still long and hung slightly past his ears. He had also changed it to a brown color, and his eyes were now a crystal clear blue. He blinked at her a moment, before smiling. "Probably a few days. It'll take a while to get across the ocean." He fastened his cloak with a pin, and settled his bag on the couch. "Well?" he said, pulling an edge of his cloak over his face to hide half of it, only his blue eyes sticking out. "How do I look?" he asked, mirth flickering in his glance.

She looked at him, placing a shocked expression on her face. “You.. You are going bald!” She snickered faintly as she watched him cover his face, laughing merrily. “Well… I don’t know…” She stated calmly as she threw her wet towel at him playfully. “Like a masked ninja.” She said as she stuck out her tongue at him and started to fasten her boots, slipping her daggers inside of them as she went to work with her chains, making sure to tie them a certain way so she would know how to pull them off. “Nice eyes, by the way.” She commented casually, their image resting in her mind.

He scoffed at her. "I am not going bald!" But a hand went up to feel his head, just in case. He sighed internally when his hand encountered a full head of hair. When she commented on his eyes, he perked up. "Thanks! This is my favorite set, I believe." He checked himself out in the mirror. "Most people in Feron have this general appearance."

She nodded calmly as she slipped her cloak over her shoulders and tied it gently, still making her knots in a way that she knew which cord to pull it off with ease. She pulled her hood over her head, as it fell down in front of her eyes and wrapped a scarf around her mouth, looking almost identical to him as she walked up beside him. “I should know I’ve lived here most of my life.” She spoke calmly, pitching her voice a bit lower so that when she spoke through the scarf, it was hard to tell whether she was male or female. Akasha gently pulled her leather gloves over her hand and looked at him out of the corner of her eyes, only a hinted movement able to be seen underneath her hood, which seemed to be made of a certain fabric that allowed her to see out of it, though it was more challenging. “We look like we are two people set on trying to assassinate someone.” She laughed faintly as she placed a gloved hand upon his shoulder, leaning against him faintly, though she felt an odd feeling rush through her upon contact. This wasn’t a good sign, or at least, not in her mind.

Shade merely chuckled. "Everyone in Feron looks like they're about to assassinate someone," he replied, allowing her to lean on him. After a moment of silence he spoke again. "We'd better get going," he murmured to her gently, and moved towards the door, opening it and looking back at her expectantly.

Akasha laughed faintly as he spoke, merely adjusting her cloak a certain way to make sure that her eyes staid covered. She heard his mention them leaving, and a faint smile appeared upon her face though he probably wouldn’t be able to see it. “Alright then.” She said softly as she followed him and walked out the door mentally preparing herself to face the mass of people that she would have to walk through. She turned around and looked at him for a moment, giving him a faint nod before securing her money bag amidst her chains, making sure that no one tried to pilfer it. “I guess this is where I leave home…” She said, though a faint sorrow danced within her tones, for it was the first time, besides being taken to the prison that she would leave it. She stretched out her hand towards Shade as though calling him forward. “Come on, let’s get going and try and find us a ship that we can catch a ride on… Or a job for that matter.” She muttered faintly, though her eyes were eternally upon him.

He gave her a tiny smile, but a comforting one. "Yup. I've got a connection on a boat called the Wit's End. I know the captain, so we'll probably get a fare pretty cheap; just let me do the talking, okay?" He grinned and winked at her, before leading her down the stairs and checking out of the inn at the front desk.

She smiled faintly before walking after him. “You know I don’t talk that much.” Akasha smirked, though she kept her pace right behind him, knowing that she would be once more bombarded with unease when she walked out into the crowd of people, but there was nothing that she could do. That was life.
