“Oh, okay, I understand.” She said with another smile as she looked out the window, her mind wandering the all the people around. Well she could create fun, but, it was a rather small town… and to do so without anyone noticing, well… She would have to silence the whole place. “I’ll probably go shopping later then. Would you like to come along?” Kiriel inquired with a faint laugh.

He smiled. "I appreciate the offer, but I think I'm going to spend the day relaxing a bit. Shopping isn't exactly my style." He grinned and shrugged, snuffing out the end of the cigarette. "But I hope you enjoy yourself."

Kiriel could only laugh faintly. “I couldn’t expect any more from a male being asked to shop with an eccentric female.” She said as she slipped into the kitchen, placed her cup into the sink. She walked back out into the main room and grabbed her boots, and placed them upon her feet. “I’ll be back after to get my things. I’m truly sorry about the interference last night. I’ll be sure to find another room upon my return, and gather my things. That is, if it does not bother you that I leave them here.” She said politely.

He shook his head. "I don't mind at all. Take your time in coming back, please." He grinned and reached for a complimentary news bulliten that had been left in their room after they had gone to bed.

The female nodded. “Okay, have a good day!” She stated as she rushed out the door with the energy of a young teenager, seeming to be going upon her first date. Yet she couldn’t help but feel excited. Who knew what she would find once she had ventured outside the room. She had only seen the place in the dead of night, now to see it once the light started to shine. It would be amusing, yes, that it would be. But, she had a lot to do in the mere six hours of sunlight, so she knew that she should head out and get her shopping done now. She walked calmly down the stairs, smiling at the desk clerk for a moment, noticing that it was a different one then the night before as she slid through the door and out onto the streets.
Her curiosity brought her to too many shops, yet Kiriel didn’t by anything. She didn’t feel the need to get anything besides a nice, elegant (if one could call it that) dagger, and a pair of boots. That had been after four hours of walking through the small village, and going from shop to shop, stopping to talk to people and searching through all their merchandise. But it didn’t take long for the whispers of a murder rushed to her ears, and the female quickly walked towards the crime scene curiously. She slipped past the authorities and caught site of the body before walking back out, still unnoticed. She asked everyone she met near the scene what had happened, yet no one knew. Some person had merely found her that way.
She slipped away and went into a small shop and got herself a glass of water and a pastry. The body had been beautifully destroyed. Such work, such skill! It brought immense joy to her mind as she thought over what she had seen, details shining before her eyes as she sipped slowly at her water, seeming to be looking outside, staring at the sky. None of her inner amusement would show upon her face, for she wouldn’t allow it to be seen by these foolish people. They panicked, and yet, the body had been dismembered with such care! She couldn’t understand how they couldn’t appreciate such a fine work of art. One more flame had been taken in the night, and only one of her kind could have done it so wondrously.
After having taken her time and enjoyed the silence that reigned over the room, she walked back outside, sunset rising from the ground and surrounding everything. It rose just to fall down upon them, surrounding them in its veil. More people had found out about the murder. Pity, news traveled too fast in this town for her liking, but the fear that radiated from the people was amazingly soothing, enticing. She only wished that every day could be like this. She didn’t even need to dirty her hands to feel the emotions that she loved best. It was simply wonderful!
Kiriel walked back towards the Inn slowly, minding her own business and not looking at anyone but the ground, though she did smile to those closer to her. She entered the Inn and slipped silently up the stairs, stopping only to say a gentle ‘hello’ to the desk clerk before walking calmly back to her room. Slipping her key into the lock, she softly opened the door, trying to make as little noise as possible as she closed it behind her, her gaze going around the room, searching for Thane. What horrid news she had to tell him, yet he probably already knew. The news did get around too fast.

He was curled comfortably in the same chair he had been sitting in before, lashing brushing gently against his face as he napped. He loved sleeping, twas one of his favorite pasttimes, and he was already tired out by this morning's work. He didn't stir as she entered, merely remained where he was, dozing lightly.

Kiriel looked at him and rolled her eyes faintly, but he should be exhausted. She silently made her way across the floor and rested upon her bed, her feet interlocking as she stared out the window, waiting for him to awaken. It mattered not how long he slept for, the night would still be young after all. And she couldn’t help it, she just had to talk to him again. His work, it had been so wondrous!

He slept for a bit longer, before his eyes fluttered open and he groaned. Sleeping in a chair was definatly not the best idea. He stretched in a rather feline-like manner, and yawned, before glancing at her with an arched brow. "Was your day productive?" he inquired, tilting his head.

The female shrugged faintly, though her eyes jumped with a seeming joy, such amusement and a deep sense of something that seemed to be like darkness lingered within. “My day was a normal day out in the shops… Boring and I found nothing of interest.” She spoke gently, quickly tossing aside her time spent shopping and staring at him with growing interest. She turned her gaze away and looked outside, seeing darkness already starting to fall, yet, her face showed the minimal of expressions. “But, there was a murder. It was a rather gruesome sight.” Kiriel said softly, as her eyes glimmered with a hidden feeling. The feeling of excitement. “The poor soul…” She added with a gentle sigh, as her cover came up once more. No, she wouldn’t just jump out, she would wait. She didn’t expect him to merely admit to everything. Though, she could still feel the faint shivers of delight roll down her spine. The blood, the severed parts, everything had been a work of true art. People took very little care of the people they murdered these days. But her killer, that person had made it a masterpiece. He arched a brow. "Really?" he said, hiding his emotions perfectly. "That's terrible. Do we know who it was?" he inquired, tilting his head with a concerned expression dancing over his face.

Kiriel shook her head negatively as she looked towards the bed, still lying with her feet interlocked. “No, they haven’t found anything out yet, but I do believe that they were searching…” She paused for a moment as she stared at her hands, her eyes showing a deep regret. Her cover up was rising rather quickly. Of course, one of the few things that could make her release that cover happened to be a mutilated body, but, she wouldn’t go into details about that. “I… I believe it was the desk clerk from last night…” She whispered faintly, as the thought dawned on her. Her voice quivered ever so slightly, though she knew it wasn’t from the feelings of being overwhelmed, yet, he had no way of knowing that.

He shook his head gently. "What a shame....she was so young, too." He bowed his head and murmured a soft prayer, before slouching back in his chair. "Truely terrible," he repeated, watching Kiriel carefully, judging her movements, simply out of habit.

She nodded as she rested her head upon her arms, staring down at the bed. She watched her hair slide down from her shoulder and falling along her cheek. “I wonder who could have done such a thing, and to think in a small town as this… It simply allows one to think that we are safe nowhere.” She sighed gently, closing her eyes.

He smiled warmly at her. "Don't fret your pretty head," he said gently. "I'll protect you." He winked at her and stood, setting another pot on the stove for tea. "And Smrnof is probably one of the safest towns in the whole continent." He smiled.

Her eyes opened faintly and she stared at him for a moment, a faint smile dancing upon her lips. “Perfect! I have a strong man ready to protect me at any time!” She said with a faint smirk. “Being a pacifist truly works out in this village.” She laughed faintly before closing her eyes again. “You must be addicted to tea… That pot is always on the stove.” Kiriel stated calmly, as she felt her mind start to calm down, allowing her to keep her mirror up. Safe it may be, but it makes me wonder what could happen in the other towns. She thought to herself, though in her mind, she could swear that her darkness was smiling.

He laughed warmly. "It keeps me healthy," he responded, looking a little hurt. "And I enjoy the flavor." He grinned, then ran a hand through his hair haphazardly. "Doesn't mean I'm addicted..."

The female looked at him for a moment and a smile appeared upon her lips, seeming to apologize for her. “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I was only stating how one might perceive it. Liking tea isn’t a bad thing.” She said gently, respectfully, though her eyes remained shut.

Thane laughed. "I was kidding. Caedmon has been trying to get me to kick the habit, because he thinks its bad for my health." He shrugged. "Sadly, I have yet to make him happy." The young man grinned broadly. "So, did you get anything in town?" he asked.

Kiriel smiled warmly, relieved to hear him laugh. It reassured her that she had done nothing wrong. It took her a moment to think about what she had gotten in the market and nodded. “Yes, nothing much. I bought boots for traveling and a dagger. Only items to which I was in need. How was your rest?” She asked curiously, opening her eyes and peering up at him as she rested her head upon her hands.

His mouth twitched upwards into a smirk, and a teasing glint entered his eyes. "Restful," he responded, before pouring his tea. "It was rather quiet here; I don't think there's anyone else staying in this Inn." He lifted his shoulders in a shrug.

The female laughed softly at his words. “I certainly hope that it was restful!” She spoke softly as she watched him pour his tea. “It is a small place, but I would have hoped to see more life around the Inn, it seems too quiet at times.” She said happily, though her lips formed the shape of an ‘o’. “I forgot to change my room number.” Kiriel stated with a faint laugh, shaking her head gently. She could always go and get it later.

He shrugged. "You can stay here. Really, it's alright, and I don't mind. Besides, they'd probably charge you extra to switch rooms, am I right?" He grinned lightly and sipped his tea as he slumped back to his chair to sit. "You keep mentioning it, so I'm starting to get the impression that you don't like me."

The female looked at him and laughed gently. “Oh please do not get that impression.” She spoke softly, looking down towards the bed. “I merely didn’t want you to think of me as a nuisance. For I did barge in yesterday without warning. But, yes, you are correct.” Kiriel agreed, curling her arms around her neck. She could easily appear to be much too comfortable to move, and, in truth, she possibly was.

Thane chuckled. "Well, I'm quite used to people barging in on me, so it's really no big deal." He shrugged.
((I'm starting to lose my inspiration for this...))

Kiriel laughed faintly as she closed her eyes, resting her head against her hands. Her mind wandered back towards the kill, everything rushing through her mind. She didn’t say anything for a little while, and it could easily appear as though she was asleep, for she didn’t move. Her breathing had even slowed. “So why that girl?” She inquired faintly, her eyes opening slowly as she got up and walked towards the kitchen and made herself a cup of tea and went back towards the bed, resting it upon its surface before laying back down in the same position, her eyes upon him once more.
