It was just another day… a rather wet one… Gods, he just hated days like that! Things were so… wet! How could people stand the feeling of the rain falling against their skin? Children he could almost make an exception of, they were kids after all and liked nothing better than to do something a little wild, but the Fire Demon still watched the children with mild disgust as they danced in the rainy streets of the costal town. Despite his immense dislike for the weather’s choice of moods, Shindar did nothing to cover his head or stay dry; he had grown far too restless tying to keep himself indoors.

"My my, what have we here? A poor, wet little fire demon?" came a teasing voice from above the demon. Sitting happily in a tree was Veralidaine, eyes bright with the oppourtunity to torment this unfortunate soul. With a teasing smile, she peered down at him. "Come now, little one. Enjoy the rain! The Gods are crying for us!" She jumped down beside him and spun, her arms thrown out wide. She grinned at him wildly, her brown hair clinging to her face in soaking-wet whisps. The elf was dressed in a simple dark shirt that clung to her skin in places and shimmered with water, and a pair of pants that had been cut at the knees. She was also barefoot. Looking more like a wild creature than an elf, she merely watched the fire demon, amusement flickering in her eyes.

Shindar stopped in his tracks when he heard the teasing voice. Of all the people to come across, Veralidaine wasn’t exactly on the top of his list. Rolling his eyes, he looked up, his hair, like everything else, soaked and dripping with the detestable rain. “And, of course, you need to be the one to tell me this?” He said smoothly, though what he thought of the weather was still clear on his face. The Fire Demon watched as she jumped down from her perch and grinned at him. Either the Elf had forgotten about their first encounter, or she was enjoying the fact that he was in as dark a mood as the color f her shirt, and wanted to tease him. Either way…
He merely gazed at her for a moment, contemplating what he should do, but he just turned away from her and began walking again; he wasn’tso sure that he wanted to be dealing with a deranged Elf at the moment.

She rolled her eyes and grabbed his wrist in a quick movement before he could walk too far away from her. She laughed and pulled him along the road, heading to gods-know-where, and grinning wildly the entire time. "Lighten up, Sparky. Enjoy it a little more!"
She continued to pull him along, heading up a slope and ducking under some trees. Eventually, they emerged from the folliage, and on top of a beautiful cliff overlooking the stormy seas. Her eyes flashed suddenly, matching the color of the skies above; muted blue/grey. She released his wrist and beamed at him.

Shindar had only gotten a few meters away from the Elf before she grabbed his wrist, causing him to snap his head in her direction, giving her a look that was somewhat akin to a glare, but not quite. As much as he wanted to, he simply couldn’t let his emotions run free… Not only would he probably do something he would come to regret, but what was the point of playing with fire in the rain? The stupid falling moisture would only put out the flames, not to mention that another part of his personality was coming into play. Despite how pissy he was, Shindar was still the romantic pyrotechnic weapon-lover… and he just couldn’t bring himself to unleash his anger on the Elf. What a shame.
“‘Sparky’?” He replied incredulously. “First you want to tear me apart, and now you’re giving me pet names…” He said, rolling his eyes, trying to jerk his wrist out of her grasp in vain. Damn… Daine had a better grip than he gave her credit for. He decided that it was best not to get dragged along, and walked beside her, fuming, until they came out over a cliff and she released him.
“Oh, and I guess this is your idea of fun?” Shindar said flatly, his eyes staring out at the water. What was with today and water? Was the despicable substance trying to drive him mad? Or was it the Elf?

Daine laughed good-naturedly. "You really are quite grumpy, you know," she told him, reaching over and tweaking his nose. "Try to see some fun in the situation?" she teased quietly, before she faced the open ocean and spread her arms wide. "Have you ever flown before?" she asked him.

“Fun? It’s raining. I don’t see what could be so fun in that.” Shindar said, trying to ignore the fact the Daine had actually tweaked his nose. He just couldn’t wrap his mind around the fact that some people actually liked water, aside from drinking it, of course. “I believe I have, and it ended rather painfully.” He said ruefully. Well, it wasn’t really ‘flying’ per se, but more like free falling, and crashing into the ground. He didn’t want a, or need, a repeat of that particular memory.

Veralidaine merely smiled at him, before smirking slyly at him. She approached him slowly, licking her lips quickly, and snatched something from his belt. Snickering she bolted, heading towards the woods and disappearing into them. "Catch me if you can, my little fire demon!" came her voice, from somewhere deep in the woods.
