For the first time in a long time, Caedmon couldn't sleep. He felt nervous, tense, and antsy. He lit a small candle beside his bed, then another beside the tiny sink in the bathroom, before turning on the water and splashing his face. He stared at his reflection for a moment, rivulets of water dripping down his face, and sighed softly. He wound his long hair back into a thick braid, tying it off, before drying his face with a towel.
As he slumped back to his bed, his mind flickered breifly to Thane. No doubt the man was getting himself into trouble. He shook his head slightly, another sigh escaping his lips. What Thane did was still his business, but Caedmon constantly worried for his friend. After all, he wasn't all bad.
His mind then wandered to the man next door. He'd certainly behaved odd ever since they entered the city. There was something unusual about him, but he couldn't quite understand what it was. Caedmon debated calling for a healer, just to be safe, but decided against it; Rian had seemed rather determined to do things on his own, so Caedmon wasn't going to interfere.
Instead, the wind demon selected a complimentary book that had been laid out, and settled back against the pillows to read. Might as well find something to occupy himself until the morning hours arrived. [/size]
