It was about midday, and a figure could be seen sitting against a tree in one of the lower-hanging branches of the abnormally large trees of Usteck. At the base of the tree lay an ocelot, her eyes closed as if in slumber, but she was alert to her surroundings, only appearing to be at ease. The figure in the tree, which turned out to be an Elf, was dressed in dark green pants, and a cream-colored short-sleeved shirt, and had one leg dangling off the edge of the branch, staring into the expanse of trees and whatever sun dappled landscape she could see between the forest giants.
Really, Aleitis had been trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of the community life; she just felt so closed in with so many people around. It wasn’t that she was claustrophobic, but she just didn’t like to be around so many people for long if she could avoid it. The ocelot, standing up and stretching languorously, shook her head slightly, and started padding off into the forest; staying in one place too long didn’t sit well with her.
~I’m off for a walk. Do you want to come?~ Kyada asked as she continued on her way, her tail twitching a bit. ~No, I think I’ll stay here for a while longer. I’ll come find you later.~ Came the reply.
With that, the feline went off into the trees, leaving behind the blue-haired Elf who was staring up into the sky as the light and shadows that the leaves created changed from pattern to pattern in the light breeze, never the same.
((Ugh… I don’t think typing a post while mad at your brother is the best thing for one’s inspiration…

A figure watched from the shadows of the tree branches, crimson eyes fixed on the elf below. The owner of said eyes was foreign to Usteck, but the trees welcomed her though she scorned them. Rhiannon hated everything that had to do with nature, and only put up with it because nature was a vital part of her magic.
The angel watched with bated breath as the Elf sat, keeping her movements small and minute, which limited her to the rise and fall of her chest, and nothing more. Her hands itched to use magic again, to snuff out this life with a single spell; but now was not the time, nor the place. Killing a single person in such a wide area was idiotic. Everyone knew that.
So, Rhiannon had to wait. And wait she would. Until the proper moment to strike and take her prey's very life from her came, she would wait.

Making as if she was merely shifting the position of her head to a more restful position, Aleitis took a look around. She felt someone’s eyes on her, and she didn’t like it. It wasn’t that she could sense a presence or something, but she had the oddest feeling that she wasn’t what you would call alone. Perhaps she should have ventured farther into the trees than she had, but the Elf was where she was, and that was that.
Although Aleitis hadn’t spotted anything, seeing as she was looking more towards the ground level and a bit higher and not overhead, she swung her other leg over the edge of the branch, and jumped to the ground, landing lightly on the leaf-padded forest floor. Actually looking around for someone, if indeed she was correct and not alone, would probably require a bit of walking around. Not everyone that spied on something could necessarily be seen by the person being watched unless they found a different angle to see from.
Sensing the unease from her bonded, Kyada paused, not really that far away, but far enough. ~What is it?~ ~I’m not sure. It could be nothing. You go and enjoy your walk.~ Aleitis replied. ~You’d know if there was really anything wrong.~ She added with a bit of a laugh, though not audible, but the corner of her mouth lifted a bit in a half smile.
The Elf knew that she had told the ocelot that there really might be nothing there, be she still didn’t like it. She felt almost as if some predator was watching her; which, though, was a mystery.

Rhia's eyes followed her movements, but the angel didn't move yet. She could watch her prey from this height without moving for a good while. Once the elf stepped out of her sight range, the angel would have to start moving to follow. But for now, she remained perched on her branch like a bird, wings pressed tightly against her back.

Not having found anything in the immediate area, Aleitis decided that perhaps she was only feeling as if she were being watched from being around too many people for too long. It happened. Still on the alert for anything, the Elf decided that perhaps she would join her animal-mate for the walk after all. Now came the task of finding Kyada without making the ocelot stop or slow down. Not that it really mattered to Aleitis; she could spot Kyada’s prints anywhere.
Once she found that trail the Elf followed the paw prints into a denser area, though she did not yet find the one she was seeking. Oh well, they trail lead on, so the feline had to be somewhere up ahead.

Silently, the angel straightened, her balance perfect on the branches as she walked between them, keeping a careful eye on the elf. Her wings vanished without a word, and she simply walked. Even if the elf looked up, she wouldn't spot Rhia from where she was.
Her hands itched at her sides, begging her to use her magic and just end it. Rhia kept herself in check, careful not to accidentally, lose a stray spell. Her eyes flickered breifly with a hint of anger, but then settled down again, returning to their stoic red color.

Quite suddenly, Aleitis turned around and her light blue eyes darted from place to place. She could have sworn that she had heard the leaves on the trees move abnormally. Still, she hadn’t spotted anything once more. The Elf knew she wasn’t a paranoid person by nature, but this was getting a bit ridiculous. With a final look around, she turned back around, only to see that instead of needing to go find Kyada, the feline had come to her.
~Nothing, is it? Seems to me that you think it is something.~ Kyada commented, walking over to the Elf until she was in from of the woman. ~I know…~ Aleitis said with a small sigh. She still felt someone’s eyes on her… and it was starting to bug her.

Rhiannon paused her movement when the elf-girl stopped and turned, eyes narrowing. Stupid elves and their stupid ability to hear things well. And that feline thing that was following her now...it would only hinder her ability to kill the elf. And she didn't need any more difficulty in this task. Honestly, did anyone even have the decency to make her job as an assassin for the Rebels easy?

Kyada merely gave Aleitis a look that said ‘Well, if you don’t like it, do something about it’, knowing that the fact that the two of them were being watched was beginning to get under the Elf’s skin.
~Alright, alright… I get the idea…~ Aleitis said to the feline, rolling her eyes a bit. “Who’s there?” She called out, not all that loudly, but enough for someone nearby to hear. She felt so awkward talking into the nothingness of the forest it wasn’t even funny. There was going to be probably one of three things that would happen… Either the said spy would show themselves, stay hidden, or there was always the possibility that there wasn’t anything there.

Did that girl actually think that she was going to show herself? Tch. Idiotic. Rhiannon remained where she was, crimson eyes still locked on her target, and the only movement she made was the rise and fall of her chest (because breathing is necessary for survival). She wouldn't reveal her location to the girl, not now, not ever. That was like asking for trouble.

~That was productive…~ Kyada said sarcastically when nothing happened. ~What did you expect? The person to listen to you merely because they now know that you know of their presence?~ ~No…~ Aleitis replied, letting out a sigh. What could she do, really, to reveal the person? The Elf was hesitant to use magic, for if she started using it, she had no idea if the spy person would retort with something of the like. No… she would risk getting Kyada hurt, and she didn’t want to do that, not to mention that a fight with magic or elements could turn ugly real fast and were normally a bit messy…
“Fine. You can stay there, for all I care.” Aleitis said, still feeling remarkably as if she were talking to nothing but the trees. Well, she didn’t really care if she was or not; she was starting to get annoyed with the whole thing. Giving the area one last quick glance around, Aleitis then walked away from the place, winding through the trees and underbrush. Gods, she hated being watched! Especially if she knew it, but didn’t really want to say it.

Rhiannon cursed silently, and cast a small invisibility spell over herself, before calling her wing and launching into the air. There wouldn't be time to get her target now. She'd have to wait...and she wasn't a very patient person. She zipped through the air, heading back to Feron. Celithramir and his buddies would be back soon from Mirlan. She would return in a few days to track the elf again. ((Gomen, Firey...I don't really know what to do.....^^;)
