Zairon walked calmly, as the sun was a couple of hours from setting. He felt hungry and irritable, searching for an easy prey. Forget about a challenge, he seriously wasn’t in the mood for a challenge. He wasn’t in the mood for a chase either. He would be much better once he had his fill, but until then, his mood would only worsen. His steps took him around most of the village, and it only caused him more irritation when he couldn’t find anyone. Did everyone know that the vampire was out hunting tonight? Or where they just doing this to annoy him even more? He merely hissed faintly as he slid into the darkness and started to prowl around, slipping in and out of the shadows to amuse himself. No, this place was boring, the blood was horrible and the people panicked too easily. More boredom and another thing to raise his annoyance. Joy.
Suddenly, the light demon’s image jumped to his mind and a dark smile rushed across his face as he changed his direction. He knew exactly where he was going, whether he would be invited or not. It was because of him that he had staid in this cursed place for so long. It was so bright, and so horrid compared to what the vampire was used to, but something caught his attention when he was around Esryn, what exactly, he knew not, but at least he would be able to spend some time with someone that was at least half interesting. And the sun wasn’t set yet, so he had plenty of time.
Rushing through the forest, allowing the shade to welcome him into its luring hold, he slowly made his way towards the light demon’s home, stopping a few feet away from it, waiting to see if the demon was home or not, or if he was with someone. The last time he had visited, an annoying demon had entered the place. He had despised it. But, he could only hope that he would have a better visit this time. And if he didn’t, he would merely go someplace else for the next little while. Yet if he did, perhaps the light demon would be the thing that forced him to stay here even longer. The vampire knew not what he wanted the most.

Esryn was on his way back from a recent healing task, feeling rather drained already by the time the sunset. He sighed softly, leaning against a tree for a moment to catch his breath. He pressed on a minute later towards his home, but froze when he felt a familiar, enthralling presence. He looked around, blue eyes darting around to spot the vampire. "Zairon?" he breathed softly, squinting to see if he could find the other man. "Zairon, is that you?" he called a bit louder.

The vampire waited patiently and suddenly heard a voice call out his name, his voice. Pushing himself deeper into the shadows, the vampire backtracked towards the light demon, spotting him not too far, though he didn’t reveal his position, yet. Silently he walked across the forest ground, and made his way back behind the light demon. “Of course.” His suave voice came up from directly behind Esryn, as his breath slid across the other’s neck. “Who else would it be dear healer?” He asked gently, as he fully emerged from the shadows. He was not a foot behind the light demon, his crimson eyes showing his amusement as he flashed a dark smile.

He felt his breath hitch in his throat softly, and he turned his head to see the vampire. A smile crossed his face. "Could have been someone else," he replied gently. "I've been getting a lot of visitors lately." He remained where he was, frozen in that spot, but he felt the familiar excitement course through his veins at the thought of what reason the vampire might be here. "I didn't think you'd actually come back," he murmured, shifting his feet slightly.

He chuckled darkly, his smile still upon his lips. “But Esryn, you should have known that I would have come back… It was your visitors that have been keeping me away.” He said softly, amusement showing upon his face. His aura was weakened; his powers weren’t in full strength, pity. But it mattered not, he could still see something within his gaze, a certain something that he knew that the other had felt last time he had come. Perhaps he had been waiting for his return, but the vampire wouldn’t dare think of that as an option. Which person enjoyed getting bit by a vampire… Perhaps it was only the one in front of him. “I told you, I’d be back, and here I am.” Zairon muttered softly.

His skin itched to be touched, and the spot which had been bitten before, burned. He sighed softly, moving back ever so slightly towards the vampire, wanting some sort of contact between them, some touch. "Mm....I guess I'm just used to being used and left," he murmured, letting his eyes close. "But I'm glad you're back..."

The vampire placed his hand upon the light demon’s shoulder, his gaze turning towards the sun, and then the hut. “Come, where do you want to go? Towards a brighter place before the light falls, or towards your hut to prepare candles for the night?” He asked gently, as he whispered in his ear. Zairon could feel his hand tighten momentarily upon the other’s shoulder as his senses caught the rush of blood under the light demon’s skin. He fought back his bloodlust faintly, locking it into the back of his mind where it wouldn’t disturb him for now, though it was still ever evident. “I’m not like those other people…” He whispered as he raked his fangs gently against the other’s neck. Not enough to leave a mark, but enough to show that he was ever-real. “I’m always watching.

He smiled slightly and shivered. "Back to my hut would be best," he responded in a light whisper. He pulled himself away from the vampire and started moving towards his home. "The sun's almost down anyways," he murmured, fumbling only slightly with the hatch to his door.

Zairon followed the light demon, watching him intently. “You seem so weak…” He spoke softly, though irritation was clear in his tone. “What did you do today?” He inquired, turning his gaze towards the trees, and staring at the leaves. This place was only getting more and more on his nerves.

"I've been healing all day," he replied. "There's an illness going around the southern part of the island, and the people are frantic. I've been doing my best to keep them calm, and heal at the same time." Esryn's eyes fluttered slightly. "It takes a lot out of me to work my healing magic." He shrugged a shoulder lightly, then arched a brow at him. "Why does it matter if I'm weak or not?" he asked, tilting his head. "I'm weak when it's dark out anyways..."

The vampire merely nodded, seeming to be uninterested. He merely sighed faintly, and ran a hand through his hair, shifting his gaze to the ground. This place aggravated him, it left him with only unused energy that he would never be able to get rid of. “It matters not, Esryn, it matters not. This place just gets to me.” He muttered coldly. For once he would like someone to be in full strength around here. The people were weak, and not worth the chase. Only the light demon beside him was a large interest to him, the others didn’t even spark a light.

He tilted his head, and turned to face the vampire, his hand lifting to brush featherlight fingertips along the vampire's jaw. He frowned slightly. "You don't have to stay because of me..." he murmured. "I don't want to keep you here if it makes you unhappy...." He looked down, but his hand remained where it was.

Zairon stared at the other’s arm, not expecting the light demon to do something such as that, yet he didn’t move, or at least, try to evade the touch. A faint smile danced upon his lips, he was staying because of the light demon, yet he usually wasn’t so moody. Lack of blood, and lack of silence… the nights were too bright and the days too long. He gently placed his hand underneath Esryn’s chin and used a faint amount of pressure to raise his head enough to look him in the eyes. He sighed faintly, though the sound came out almost as a hiss as the wind rushed between his fangs. “Dear, dear, light demon, if this place bothered me as much as I let on, I would have left by now. I stay because of you, perhaps.” He stated softly, not ever giving one the pleasure of fully knowing what was on his mind. “Utter happiness is a rare occasion during an undead life.” The vampire said softly as his fangs peeked through his lips as he smiled towards the other. “Do not worry about my happiness when I feel barely anything. Emotions mean very little for me, for I have felt very little in so long.” He said calmly.

Esryn shivered against the touch, and smiled softly. It made him a bit giddy inside that, maybe, Zairon was staying only because of him. "Dead or undead, or living, even, happiness should occur at some point...I won't allow you to remain unhappy." He shook his head slightly. The light demon stepped away from the vampire, turning to light the candles as the last bit of light from the sun faded in the sky. "Everyone deserves happiness," he murmured softly.

Zairon looked at him and followed him into the house, raising his shoulders faintly. “Happiness is merely a pleasure that most take for granted.” The vampire replied calmly, though his eyes turned towards the light and the sun. How he despised being forced to walk in sunlight all day. “Sometimes, it is your experiences that make happiness so rare.” The vampire muttered softly as he looked at the ground. Becoming a vampire was such an experience.

Esryn smiled slightly, but shook his head. He wasn't one to argue very much, preferring to settle his differences peacefully, without conflict. "As you wish," he stated calmly, before shrugging into his nightclothes.
"Out of curiosity....why did you come back? Aside from the fact that you need to feed?"

He stared at Esryn for a moment and merely looked away. “I don’t know… It isn’t only the need to feed that brings me here. You intrigue me, and I don’t know why.” He said softly as he looked back at the light demon, his crimson eyes starting to glow in the dimming light. What brought him here? He didn’t know, perhaps it was mere curiosity, perhaps it was only to feed, but something told him it was something more.

He let a flicker of a smile cross over his face. "Oh," he murmured, glancing down. "Well, can I get you anything?" he asked, tilting his head.

The vampire noticed the flicker of the smile, but he didn’t say anything as he merely shook his head. “Nah, I’m just visiting.” He said softly, though he knew that it wasn’t the truth. He could feel his blood craving roaring inside of him, threatening to consume him. Oh well, he could wait for a little longer. He looked around the room again, and leaned comfortably against the hut. “So, how are you efforts doing in saving the people of the island?” Zairon inquired faintly as he looked in the direction of the other’s gaze. A deep hunger lingering deep within his own.

"As best I can," he responded, slumping down onto his bed. "There's only so much that I can do with my magic. As well as with my limited resources." He shrugged slightly. "Some are bound to die, regardless of my attempts."

Zairon nodded calmly, not bothering to beat around the bush. “At least you aren’t beating yourself up over how you can’t save them all. This place needs more healers.” He said with a faint sigh as he shifted his position faintly. Though the vampire was one that could kill anyone rather easily, he hated the thoughts of someone dying. Call him a softy, he truly didn’t care. Knowing that someone was dying out there brought him very little joy, especially when he was in the town, having to watch the people suffer. He may be a vampire, but he was no murderer.

He nodded solemnly. "It does. I've called for a close friend to come help me out, but it'll be another few days before she arrives." He shrugged. "Oh well....all I can do is wait." He leaned back on the bed slightly, keeping himself propped up on his elbows.

The vampire watched the light demon change positions, and he silently felt his blood craving rush upwards as he caught sight of his neck. “Waiting is annoying…” The vampire muttered under his breath as he changed the direction of his gaze. All he did in life was wait, and well… It bothered him at times, the lack of action, though he could do enough. He looked at Esryn, a faint smile upon his lips. This man was starting to become a sort of addiction to the vampire. Each time he saw him, he only wanted to see him again. He worried, and he cared, which was very little he could say about most other people. This could become a problem…

Esryn blinked as Zairon looked away from him, and he stood, moving over towards his...friend? Cool fingers lifted to trail along the Vampire's chin, azure eyes watching with mild amusement as his fingers left featherlight touches along the other man's neck. "You're beautiful, you know," he whispered softly, letting his gaze flicker towards the vampire breifly, before focusing back on his fingers, which now dipped towards the man's collarbone.

Zairon looked up in mild surprise as he felt the other’s touch him ever so gently. His eyes went downwards to look at the light demon’s hands, though a smirk played upon his lips as he listened to Esryn speak. “Well, I certainly do now.” He answered back suavely as his gaze bore into the light demon’s eyes as his hand was placed against his face as he ran his thumb gently along Esryn’s face. This vampire had never been one for words, though his eyes spoke enough for him at the moment. Obsession was certainly becoming a problem, for he knew that he didn’t want to leave this man’s side, yet even worst, he didn’t want to see another around him. Could this possibly be a sense of possession that flickered through him? No… the vampire had to deny that much at least. It was all he could do for the moment.
