Elviondel cursed Celithramir multiple times as he crossed the border from Mirlan into Qavest. He didn't care if this was for Celith's business he didn't want any part of it.
But of course, here he was carrying a pocketful of highly illegal substances in his pocket and looking for the person who looked just as equally suspicious as him to give it to.
The Water Demon had a small heart attack every time a soldier passed him and he was quite relieved as he made it to one of the city's back allys.

Funny thing about when you’re looking for someone who looked as suspicious as yourself, sometimes certain people tend to take notice of you. One of these people just happened to be Valediel. What did you expect? He was after all a spy of sorts. As it was, the Darkness Demon had merely been doing what you might call rounds to see if there was anything of interest going on. At that point, he really didn’t care what it was. When you spend three or four days in the same place doing the same thing, well, you might get a tad bit bored.
So, as you can imagine, his initial reaction, inward reaction, of course, was something along the lines of ‘Oh! Someone who’s trying and failing miserably at being inconspicuous! I’m gonna tail him!’. Well… maybe not that eccentric, but you get the idea. Once he judged that Elviondel was at about the right distance so that he wouldn’t be noticed by him, at least, not right away, Valediel took off after him at an easy pace, making as if he was on some errand until he entered the back alleys.
Aaah… Here, he was in his element. So many little nooks and crannies perfect for concealment, not to mention plenty of shadows. Where was this guy heading anyway? Not many people in their right minds would venture in here, unless they were doing something ‘legal’.
((Khay: One heart attack, two heart attack, three heart attacks, four! Whoo! Elviondel is gonna be old and gray after this! *dances* *Needs to lay off of the pepsi* Firey: *Shakes head**After a moment* Hey… wait a sec… why is this even in my post?! Khay: Because you’re at my house and I have perfect right to steal the keyboard! *Whirls* Firey: *Under breath* Not to mention you’ve had caffeine…))

Elviondel was much to paranoid about soldiers to even examine that someone else might try and follow him. So he continued to the area of the city where Celith had told him the client would be.
When is back alley ended and turned back into another main road the Water Demon sighed. ~~Reorder prorities. Kill Celith when I get back.~~ Glancing around, El took out a cigarette and lit it as he watched and waited for his 'person'.
((Lol!!! Sounds exactly like when me and Lindsey hang out....I feel for you Firey. ^_^))

Valediel, who was still following Elviondel, decided he wanted to have some fun. Sure, it was still daylight out, meaning that he wasn’t exactly about to move something big even if he wanted to, but little things can make the paranoid even more so, and it wasn’t hard to tell that the Water Demon whom he was following wasn’t at ease. As the Darkness Demon watched Elviondel light his cigarette, a small mischievous smile flashed across his face for the briefest of instances. Reaching out with his powers, Val watched as the cigarette burst into flames. This was fun. Had he been anyone else, he would have hoped that the Water Demon didn’t burn himself, but… you get the idea.
((Lol, thanks, but that is actually kind of normal when we hang out... ^^' Khay: I'm always hyper... or at least... 95% of the time ^^ Yup-yup! No caffeine yet, but it will soon come! (Dum dum dum!) *Shakes head* Love you too, Khay...))

Without even thing a splash of water erupted from El's hand to quench the flames. As he look at the now crisp cigarette on the ground, El glanced around suspiciously. He'd been smoking for the better part of his life and that had never happened, of it's own accord. There was always the occasion that Xavier or Anamir were toying with him.
He pulled out another cigarette not letting whoever decided to be funny deter him from his nicotine.

When Elviondel used water to put out the flames of his first cigarette, Valediel decided that he wanted to play with the water. Sure, fire was fun, too, but it would be a bit too obvious if he did so again…. Not to mention he thought that getting the guy a bit wet could be fun too. So, without further ado, he took control of the water just before it hit the ground, and brought it up higher in an intricate pattern, making it flow faster and faster as it came up behind the Water Demon until it was right over him. Then, as if gravity was once more taking effect, he let it drop on his head.

Elviondel was honestly a little stunned when the water dropped on his head. He blinked again for a few moments before he allowed his body to absorb the water through his clothing and skin and into himself, leaving him perfectly dry again. The only thing that had bothered him was that yet another of his rather expensive cigarettes were ruined.
As he took out another one, the Water Demon did begin to glance around as he was not very fond of being made fun of. As he looked down the allyway behind him he was almost certain he'd seen the shape of someone moving just a little ways down.

With a bit of a smirk, Valediel held himself still in the shadows. So, Elviondel had decided that he would try to look around to see who was there? In the Darkness Demon’s mind, it had taken him long enough… Wouldn’t the cigarette bursting into flames have been enough of an indication that there was someone nearby? Ah well, maybe he was too distracted by whatever it was he was doing here, or seemed to be waiting for, anyway. Still, he wanted to create a bit of havoc…
Glancing around, Valediel noted that there were some pebbles on a windowsill. Why, he didn’t really care; it was probably some kid who had left them there. All the same, he made them fall to the ground, wondering if the Water Demon would think that he was over there and not hidden in the shadows not far behind him.

Elviondel turned his head in the direction the sound and decided that he'd been in this allyway long enough. Someone was obviously watching him, though they didn't seem much interested in what he was carrying. So instead of going in search of the character El exited back into the main street and blended in with the crowd, hoping the lose whoever it was.

As Elviondel passed him by, Valediel pressed himself deeper into the shadows, watching with attentive and amused gray eyes. So… the game was going to get a little more difficult, was it? Well… He figured he should be thankful that was after midday, but he still tensed a bit when he once more stepped into the sunlight as he followed Elviondel once more.
While he followed the Water Demon, well, keeping the guy in sight, the Darkness Demon was bumped into by a hulk of a guy who decided that he wanted to try and ‘borrow’ some money. The only problem was that it was more securely attached at the Demon’s waist than he had thought.
Feeling himself being pulled in the opposite direction that he was heading in, or, rather, that Elviondel seemed to be going, Valediel instinctively balled one fist into a fist and threw a punch at the guy while he tried to dislodge the guy’s hand from his pouch. He didn’t want to be messed with right then… Oh, no… he was a little busy trying to occupy himself with tailing Elviondel. He managed to get himself free of the would-be pickpocket, but only to realize that he lost sight of his ‘prey’. Great… Now what…? He thought, walking at a quick pace. Being found by soldiers wasn’t on his to-do list.

((I feel so intimidated...you always have really long posts....O.O''''' ))
It hadn't taken much effort on El's part to spot the only other person leaving the allyway. Before he'd had time to do anything however he noticed the culprit getting into a random fight in the street.
~~Wow, this guy is like trouble with legs.~~ The Water Demon thought sarcastically. He easily weaved himself through the crowd. As he got closer he noticed that the new man was obviously a random pick pocket, not that the clue of holding the money pouch was a tip off or anything.
He watched the battle from a few feet away and when it finally broke up and noticed the dissapointed look on his 'harassers' face. ~~Heh, lost sight of me.~~ El was actually slightly amused. As the man began walking away Elviondel decided a reversal of roles was in order. Though he wasn't one for hiding. El kept walking until he was directly behind the other, while trying to avoid hitting the seeminly hundreds of people on the street.

((Lol… don’t be… Tis just the way I am. Just watch, I’ll probably have a shorter one soon… if not now… Meh…))
Ever get that feeling that you were being watched or followed? Well, Valediel, seeing as he was usually the one to give it and not receive it, though he had felt it often enough to recognize it, took the opportunity to take a swift glance behind himself when he took a corner. Well… if it wasn’t for Mister Suspicious himself… This could be interesting… I wonder if he’s any good at following people through thick crowds… The Darkness Demon thought as he came to a rather crowded area that was full of people and wagons trying to get through slowly as the people milled about. Keeping a straight face wasn’t exactly what you might call difficult, but when something ironic like this happened, it was a different story.
Acting as if he hadn’t taken any notice of Elviondel and keeping his quick pace, Valediel filed between the people and wagons, deliberately taking more turns than was necessary, then finally coming to a tavern. Entering the building, he went and found himself an empty table, and waited. If the Water Demon was still following him, especially as close as he had been, he’d probably show up. Then again, he might have decided that it wasn’t worth it. Pushing his thoughts aside, Valediel made himself comfortable in his chair, and waited.
((Or maybe it won't be short... Don't mind me ^^'))

((............................................))
Elviondel didn't need any more of a signal then the man's glance backwards and his increased walking speed to let him know he'd been spotted. And when the other began weaving in and out of the most crowded places the water demon smiled to himself.
~~He likes being the follower but not the followed~~ He mused to himself. Elviondel didn't try to follow the man directly. Instead, he merely kept moving back and forth, all the while keeping his eye on his annoyer, which was difficult considering he was short within this swarming crowd. Luckily, however, the young man entered one of the nearest taverns.
Finally knowing his destination, El took his time getting through the people to the swinging doored entrance. As he stepped in, El scanned the crowd. Smirking in amusement he caught the glance of the man who was clearly awaiting his arrival. He walked across the room to the table and say across from the other.
"So, while this has been an interesting experience. Is there a specific reason for it?"

”What experience?” Valediel replied as if he had no idea what Elviondel was talking about. Truth was, he did, of course, but he wasn’t about to go spill his heart out to some upstart who thought that because he had confronted him about being followed, he would get all the answer he desired. Fat chance. Let him figure it out. If the Water Demon hadn’t noticed how visible he had made himself, it was his problem, but he couldn’t expect to stroll around town the way he was without arousing any suspicion.
”How did you like your cigarettes?” The Darkness Demon asked in an innocent voice, though the small smile on his face said otherwise. He had to admit, it had been amusing, but he also had to admit to himself how bored he must have been to think it so. Ok, so it was partially his own fault for it, seeing as it happened to many people in the line of work that he did, but still…

El just nodded with a light smirk pulling at the corner's of his mouth. "Okay, be that way." He raised his hand and called one of the waiters over.
"I'll have a phoenix cry." The water demon told the man when he came to the table, naming his favorite drink.
At Valediel's mention of his cigarettes he pulled the pack out and lit one up. "Well, if your asking if I like them well done or soaking wet...then no. I prefer dry." He remarked. "Of course that doesn't really answer why you did it. Or you were following me."
Usually El would be a little upset after all this, but he could pretty much tell that this guy was just doing it for his own pleasure and hadn't had any real purpose. Of course, he couldn't linger here for long he still had to find Celith's buyer.

"I never gave you an answer." Valediel said quietly. "Tell me… Why should I?" He asked after a moment, turning his cold gray eyes towards him. Perhaps he should tell him that he needed more practice at being ‘natural’ when he was going about whatever business he had. Or perhaps the Water Demon should learn it on his own; it was probably by fluke that he hadn’t encountered any soldiers as of yet. Quite unlike Elviondel, Valediel was in no hurry to leave the tavern, but it would be more than likely that he would leave soon enough anyway. He wasn’t exactly what you might call popular with some of the people in there.

El looked at the Darkness demon incredulously. "Well, it seems a little odd to me that you were...simply following me for no reason." He explained. "But I'm not going to twist your arm about it." El took a sip of the drink that had been brought to him a moment before. "So long as you don't bother anymore." The Water Demon polished off his drink and stood from the table.
"Well, nice meeting you. I suppose." He said sarcastically. "I'm El." He didn't offer his hand, if only because he wasn't expecting the man to reply.

”Whatever. Makes no difference to me.” Valediel replied, shrugging. However, he was of a more curious nature than Elviondel seemed to be, and they say that curiosity killed the cat. Too bad he wasn’t a cat. Oh well, if what the Water Demon was really so interesting to him, the Darkness Demon could always find out from another source, though it would probably take more time to do so. Perhaps he would just let it drop.
”Then I guess you can call me Val.” He said in turn, standing up as well. He wasn’t a rude person, but he wasn’t polite to the point where he would give out his full name. Nah… shortened ones worked fine.

"Right then." Elviondel nodded once before turning to the door. Of course that may have been one of the worse things he could've done. For at that moment about 4 soldiers, obviously taking a break from patrolling, walked in the door.
"By all that is unholy." He swore. "I don't suppose you know a back way out of this place huh?" He asked, looking to his new acquaintance.

“Of course, I’ve had to get in and out of backdoors more than you think.” Valediel relied, catching sight of the soldiers. What a rotten time for them to show up… Oh well, he wasn’t about to cry over spilled milk. “ The real question is, are you willing to go through the kitchen?” He continued, once more glancing at his new ‘friend’. The back entryway would be in the kitchen so that the staff could get supplies from the market whenever they needed instead of going through the tavern. It only made sense. The Darkness Demon just wouldn’t say that he hadn’t had to run out of the back of this particular tavern; he was making an educated guess, really, and he was hoping he was right.

“Alright, then, come on.” Valediel said, raising an eyebrow at the hastiness of Elviondel’s response. He could ask later. Right now, it didn’t matter; what mattered was getting the heck out of there. Making his way between the tables and random people who were standing around trying to find a vacated table or merely talking, the Darkness Demon headed for the kitchen doors and walked right in.
After a few moments upon entering the room, someone tried to get his attention, demanding who he was and what he was doing in there; only staff were supposed to be in there. Val ignored him, trying to find the backdoor. There was only one problem with that. There wasn’t one, and some of the more robust staff had taken it upon themselves to use threatening tones and were coming nearer. “Great… There had better be a window…” He muttered to himself. It seemed that the place wasn’t built as a tavern. Just his luck. As long as there was a window large enough for someone to go through, however, he could care less; it would only serve as a reminder to not come in this one again.

Elviondel sighed heavily when they got to the back and there was no door. "Just great." The last thing he wanted to do is draw attention to himself, especially right now. And with soldiers right in the other room, this was all turning out to be one very bad day.
~~Torture...yes Torture Celith before you kill him.~~ He thought before his eyes rested on one of the enclosing people.
"Look, we're just looking for a way out this way. I don't want any trouble." But the look in El's eyes told that he wasn't exactly against that option either. "So is there...or isn't there a way out back here?" A few of the cooks, or whatever they were, looked a little upset but in the end one just sighed and pointed behind him. El looked over to see another, what looked like, hallway.
"Just go all the way down." The bigger man instructed.
"Thank you." El said tiredly, before looking to Val for a brief moment. Before saying anything else El took off down the way he'd been directed.

Valediel, hearing one of the men giving Elviondel some instructions as to how to get out of there, could have hit him upside the head. Did the Water Demon not think that because he didn’t know his way around back there, that the man could have been telling him to go to a cellar or something which had even lesser chances of having an exit? Still, they were in a pinch, and even though he had found a window, it was only large enough for ventilation. So, the Darkness Demon ended up going down the hallway as well, his senses on edge. He knew what would await them if they were captured, and he also knew what they did to spies that were careless enough to get caught. Grimacing at the thought, he continued on after Elviondel, taking note of the guttering torches hanging on the walls. What use did they have for lanterns in a place that the public wasn’t going to see?
“El.” He said, trying to get the person’s attention. He would rather not go through a door, and he was pretty sure that the soldiers had seen them before they had gotten into the kitchen, and the sounds coming from behind him were a good indication of that. At least the men in there had had enough sympathy to try to give them enough time to get away. Why? He would never know. “This way.” He continued after opening a door that went off the hallway and revealed a room that had a good-sized window that led to an alley.

El slowed when he heard his name and turned to see Val opening a door. He didn't bother asking questions at this point. He just wanted out. El went through the door indicated and immediately went to the window.
He lifted up the glass and slid through landing out on the other side. He moved to the side and waited for Val. They might not be friends, per say, but he wasn't about the leave the guy behind if he got caught.
